Who We Are:
Sigma International is an innovative “boutique” consulting and
business development company that was established in 2003. The company
is chaired by Advocate Kessie Naidu (Evidence Leader at the Heifer
Commission).Since its inception the company has set up offices both in Durban and
Detroit (USA) and is seeking to expand into new markets.
Our Core Focus:
Sigma International’s core focus is to help
create and develop both new and existing businesses. Our core
competency lies in turning around struggling businesses, and placing
them on the road to sustainability. In turning around companies, we
provide various professional management consulting services across the
spectrum, from commercial, production to engineering.
Sigma International has won the Durban
Chamber/Standard Bank Entrepreneur of the Year (2005) and was a
runner-up in the Standard Bank- KZN Growth Awards (2006). The company
is also a member of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Our BEE Credentials:
Sigma International is 100% Black- Owned with 45%
owned by a Black female. It is a small-medium business, and, as per the
revised Codes of Good Practice (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment,
issued on 9 February 2007).
The company automatically qualifies
as a Level 1 contributor of BBBEE, and has been recently verified. In
addition, 100% of the Senior Management are black, eighty-six percent
of all staff are black, while fifty-seven percent of staff are black
female. The company is involved in several corporate social programmes.
The company invests much time and resources on developing and training
staff (who have a unique skill set).
Our History
Sigma International was founded in November 2003 as an entrepreneurial venture between Akash Singh and Christopher Naidoo.It was university dream of good friends. The company was launched as a niche consulting and business development firm.
In 2005, Sigma International won the Durban Chamber/ Standard Bank Business Entrepreneur of the Year 2005) award.This award is issued by the Durban Chamber of Commerce & Industry to young entrepreneurs who have achieved remarkable success.
Later in 2006, the company was nominated as the Runner-up in the Standard Bank KZN Growth Awards (2006) during the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Growth Awards season. This awards programme aims to provide support and recognition to businesses making a meaningful contribution to sustainable growth in the local economy
Today, Sigma International has grown in scope and scale with offices both in Durban and Detroit (USA).The company is recognized as an innovative consulting hub for business development, backed by highly qualified and professional consultants, with remarkable field experience.

Key Milestones
Just two years into the business, the company began already receiving acclaim. Sigma International scooped the 2005 Durban Chamber/Standard Bank Business Entrepreneur of the Year award
Opening of the second office in Detroit, Michigan (USA). Sigma International is one of the few South African suppliers authorized and accredited to directly supply a major US automotive manufacturer- Chrysler. Sigma supplies and manufactures external graphics and decals in South Africa and these products can be found on the well known Jeep and Dodge lineup in the worlds largest automotive market. This project is part of its venture capital fund.
During 2004-2007, Sigma International successfully developed and ran a medium-sized personal loan origination business for Nedbank.

Akash Singh has been appointed to the Board of Directors at the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2006/2007/2008
Akash Singh was selected as the Representative to PUM in KZN. This is a Netherlands Government Program which provides subsidized/free consulting to SMMEs
Sigma International is an appointed service provider to both SEDA and the Umsobomvu Youth Fund
